The Solar Structure Installation Technician Course is a 72 hours practical training program.

It is designed to equip learners with the essential skills required to install, assemble, and maintain solar PV mounting structures used in rooftop, ground-mounted, and small commercial solar projects. The course blends foundational theory with hands-on field exercises to prepare learners for real-world installation work in the rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

Through structured modules, participants learn:

– Basics of solar energy and PV system components
– Types of mounting structures (rooftop, tin-shed, RCC, ground-mount)
– Tools, hardware, and safety equipment used in installation
– Site assessment, layout marking, tilt angle calculation, and orientation
Module mounting, frame assembly, and mechanical tightening standards

Earthing, lightning protection, and mechanical load considerations

Quality standards, documentation, and maintenance procedures

Hands-on practice includes structure assembly, torque application, module alignment, drilling, clamping, grounding connections, and verification of mechanical stability. Learners also perform on-site inspections, follow installation SOPs, and understand MNRE guidelines relevant to solar deployment.

By the end of the program, participants are prepared to:

  • Familiarize with heavy equipment used at solar sites
