3D Printing

What is 3D Printing?

3D printing, or additive manufacturing, is a process of making three-dimensional solid objects from a digital file.

Think of it as building an object layer by layer, similar to how an inkjet printer puts dots of ink on a piece of paper. The difference is that a 3D printer uses materials like plastic, metal, or concrete and stacks countless thin, cross-sectional layers on top of each other until the object is complete.

Why learn 3D Printing?

Learning 3D printing gives you the power to turn ideas into tangible products with speed, precision, and creativity. As industries move toward rapid prototyping and customized manufacturing, 3D printing has become essential in engineering, healthcare, aerospace, automotive, fashion, and even education. This course helps you understand how to design, slice, and print functional parts while exploring materials, machines, and real-world applications. By mastering 3D printing, you gain a future-ready skill that boosts innovation, reduces production costs, accelerates product development, and opens doors to exciting careers and entrepreneurial opportunities in the evolving world of digital fabrication.

What you'll learn

In this course, you’ll dive into the exciting world of additive manufacturing—learning how to design, slice, and fabricate real 3D-printed products from scratch. You’ll explore different 3D printing technologies, materials, and workflows, master CAD modeling for print-ready designs, and understand how to troubleshoot, optimise, and enhance print quality. By the end, you’ll be able to transform ideas into functional prototypes, customised components, and industry-ready models, gaining the creativity and technical confidence to innovate across engineering, healthcare, automotive, consumer products, and beyond.

Qualifications Required

Can a commerce or arts student also learn 3D printing?

Yes, students from a commerce or arts background can enter the 3d printing industry and learn about 3d printing. TCoE will help you learn and understand the basic fundamentals using its unique hands-on training approach, thus helping any student with any kind of background to learn solar photovoltaics.

There is no minimum qualification, but its easier if you have done 10+2 level science. Still, any student from any background can learn 3d printing.

Time Required to Learn

Typically our courses are 36 hours (introductory / crash course) to 600 hours (long term).

A student can spend 2 hours / day (in 3 weeks) to 6 hours / day (in 1 week) to complete a 36 hours course.

A school/ college going student can typically spend 4 hours per week (in 9 weeks) to 6 hours per week (6 weeks), to complete the 36 hours course.

For a 600 hours course, a student may need to give more time per week – typically 20 hours per week (total 30 weeks = 7 months) to 30 hours per week (total 20 weeks = 5 months) to complete the course.
